Parents also need support to help their teens dealing with these troubles that they are going through. It's important that these teens need a safe place to go where they can focus on getting the help they need and deserve. Shelter in the Storm offers a well rounded support system that offers mental health help, help with school, life skills training and much more.
I am blessed to have this opportunity at Shelter in The Storm. I am excited for new clientele, meeting kids from all aspects and meeting with parents also. As a member of this team, we take pride in what we do at Shelter in The Storm. We are eager to work with kids and let them know we are here to help in many ways!
As a marketer I want do whatever I can to help spread the word of those in my community of whom generally do not get heard. When I was asked to work with Shelter in The Storm I did not hesitate that opportunity to do just that for the Green Bay, WI area.

With Shelter in the Storm children get a chance to be themselves, but also get help with areas in their education where they may be struggling. I decided to get involved with Shelter in the Storm because Tim saw me as a person and got to know me, instead of just seeing my wheelchair or when I have to use my walker. Tim didn’t automatically label or see me as a lesser human being because of my disability. But it isn’t just because of that, even though it is a huge part of it, being seen as a person is very important, as well as being allowed to be yourself without judgment. Tim is also a very caring person and I want to help him succeed in his mission to help children achieve not only graduation or earning a G.E.D, but finding a place in society.

I am honored to be the president of the board for Shelter in the Storm. The mission of the organization touches my heart and my soul. Raising two boys myself, I see first hand the hardships our teens face, especially after COVID. Shelter in the Storm seeks to address the highs and lows in the teens lives today. It's been said that it takes a village to raise a child, Shelter in the Storm hopes to become an integral part of the village for teens in our area who need a little more support.
I joined Shelter in the Storm because I feel strong about setting up our youth for success, whether that be mental health support or teaching life skills. I want all children to get the support they need.
I joined the board because I want to be a part of something that makes a difference. Anyone can talk about change. Anyone can say "wouldn't it be nice". I am proud to be a part of not just great ideas, but the action in front of them. I know what it is like needing extra help, I know what it's like when no one is there. I want to fill the gaps for others that were missing for me.
